Stainless steel swivel flange (Lap joint flange) is a type of flange used with a short piece of pipe called the stub end, this piece of pipe will be welded directly to the pipe and held by the swivel flange. Swivel flanges are used in short and high pressure pipelines.
The lap joint swivel flange is designed to slide on the pipe and rotate around the stub end, making it easy to adjust the pipe direction during installation. The flange part does not come into direct contact with the environment inside the pipe, instead the stub end part will be in direct contact with the conductor inside. Stainless steel swivel flanges come in the form of RF (Rise face) or FF (flat face) flanges. The surface of the RF swivel flange has one smooth plane and the FF will have two smooth planes. They are still designed with holes to connect with bolts, valve flanges and other accessories on the pipeline.
A stub end (also known as a stub end) is a short piece of pipe used to connect to a swivel flange, commonly used in high pressure applications. The stub end has a structure similar to a pipe, however only one end has a flange, while the other end is usually cut square or curved and has no flange.
The stub end is designed to be welded to pipes or fittings, using the MIG or TIG welding process. The stub end will then be secured to the rotating flange with screws or bolts. Using a stub end makes the installation process simpler, saving time and costs compared to using a full swivel flange for each pipe.
Stainless steel swivel flanges are composed of two separate parts, so each part will use a different standard. Specifically:
