Seamless stainless steel pipe are made using the same technology as cast stainless steel pipes. From an initial solid cylindrical billet, stainless steel will be heated to red heat, then hollowed out in the middle, adjusted to size and cut to the appropriate length.
Characteristics of industrial Seamless stainless steel pipe
Cast 304 and 316 stainless steel pipes still have the typical characteristics of cast 304 stainless steel shave and welded 316 stainless steel. In this article, QMS only talks about the difference between cast pipes and welded pipes!
First: Seamless pipes have better pressure resistance. Although welded joints are an advantage, they are also the “deadly point” of welded pipes in some cases.
Second: Price factor. Sometimes cast pipes also have better prices than welded pipes. However, with welded pipes, it can be machined to the desired size according to the design. Once the molded pipe has cooled, its size cannot be changed anymore.
Third: Cast pipes have longer production times.
Fourth: About the uniformity of the tube. In welded pipes, the weld position may be susceptible to rust.
